FLOW researchers’ work published in Nature Climate Change

Published Jun 01, 2023

Our colleagues Francesca Larosa and Ricardo Vinuesa and their collaborators have recently published a commentary piece in Nature Climate Change, where they argue that the proposed pause in generative artificial-intelligence systems could be detrimental to the research to fight climate change. In particular, recent progress in large language models (LLMs) exhibits great potential to find novel solutions to the climate emergency. Instead of a pause, holistic regulation should be developed, emphasizing transparency and interpetability of the developed AI models.
