Abstract: The wall-pressure fluctuations in the turbulent boundary layer are closely related to the turbulent structures above the wall. The 3D space-time conditional correlations of wall-pressure and velocity revealed that positive wall-pressure fluctuations can be associated with upstream sweep motions, whereas negative wall-pressure fluctuations are linked to downstream sweep motions. The velocity structures associated with wall-pressure fluctuations were found to be relatively large. The large-scale microphone array for wall pressure fluctuation field measurements are explained, and some results of the experimental campaign in Japan will be demonstrated.
