FLOW Researchers Among Finalists in Milton Van Dyke Competition

The international panel evaluating the submissions to the 1st ERCOFTAC Milton van Dyke Competition has chosen five finalists who will present their work at the upcoming ERCOFTAC Spring Festival in Stockholm, Sweden, on 22nd May 2025, where the winner of the competition will be selected.

A contribution of FLOW, together with former colleagues at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany, and KAUST Saudi Arabia, has been selected among the five Finalists (see the contributions here ).

Adam Peplinski et al.’s DNS of a starting rotor  highlights the capabilities of the adaptive mesh refinement (AMR) version of Nek5000 on the example of a drone rotor.

Additionally, among the distinguished 10 runners-up, former FLOW PhD student Daniele Massaro is recognized for his work presented in Massaro et al.'s simulations of turbulent pipe flow  (see all contributions here ).
