Daniel Söderberg appointed as professor

From October 1st, Daniel Söderberg is professor in processes for fibre-based materials from forest resources at the department of Fibre and Polymer Technology at KTH.

Daniel defended his PHD thesis on instabilities of planar liquid jets in 1999. He then pursued a successful career combining applied research at STFI (later Innventia AB) with fundamental fluid mechanics research within FLOW and the Wallenberg Wood Science Center ( www.wwsc.se ). In addition to establishing and leading a research group, he has served as Director of the Odqvist Laboratory and Head of the department of Mechanics at KTH. Two highlights of his career are the establishment of the research platform Treesearch ( www.treesearch.se ) and succesful assembly of strong cellulose filaments ( pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acsnano.8b01084 ).
