Mihai Mihaescu and Ramis Örlü have been awarded the Göran Gustafsson prize for young researchers

Two FLOW researchers, Mihai Mihaescu and Ramis Örlü have been awarded the Göran Gustafsson prize for young researchers at a ceremony at the Grand Hotel in Stockholm on May 4, 2012.

The prizes are each 300 000 SEK and can be used free for research. Dr Mihaescu was awarded for his work on assessing respiratory airflow in patients with obstructive airway disorders whereas Dr Örlü for his studies on the nature of wall turbulence. Göran Gustafsson donated 135 Msek in 1986 which now has increased to 660 Msek and every year more than 12 Msek is given to research project, post-doctoral stipends and awards for younger researchers within areas belonging to engineering physics at KTH and engineering physics and medical science at Uppsala University (see www.gustafssonsstiftelse.se/uu_kth/index.html ).
